[Music] FOLA – awade

Opening the 14-track journey of 9, FOLA delivers an intriguing entry with awade. As the project’s first track, it sets a tone for what listeners can expect from this Nigerian artist’s 2026 release.

The placement of awade at the very start of the album suggests a deliberate choice, framing the narrative or sound that FOLA intends to explore throughout the entire project. With 14 pieces making up 9, this opening track carries the weight of introduction and invitation.

As a project-first writing approach shapes the album, 9 appears to emphasize cohesion from start to finish. FOLA, hailing from Nigeria, brings a unique cultural perspective to this carefully constructed collection, beginning with the first track’s distinct placement and purpose.
